For me it it seems that the 2 giants are getting more and more similar. Initially was Yahoo. Then Google was born. Many were using Yahoo mail when Google released gmail. I noticed that slowly www.gmail.com(which was initially the place where to see your gmail if you remember) was moved under mail.google.com similar to what yahoo had. Now yahoo releases ymail.com which you can access from mail.yahoo.com. Everything makes sense now. You can go and grab your email @ymail.com with the same nickname as the one @gmail.com. You can access your ymail inbox at mail.yahoo.com and your gmail inbox at mail.google.com.
