• Permalinks - this option is already in WordPress, it just need to be activated.
• Aksimet - a plugin shipped with WordPress, that needs to be activated. I uses Aksimet webservices to detect the spam comments.
• Google Sitemap Generator - a plugin that help Google crawlers to index the blog more efficiently. Yahoo and Microsoft agreed to use the same sitemap protocol.
• All in One SEO Pack - a plugin which tweak the blog in order to block search engines detecting duplicate content.
• Use FeedBurner and Feedzilla- to send your feeds to the people subscribed to one of those services.
• Add a contact form to get readers feedback
• Use tags and tag cloud
